The colour is a dark red with good clarity and depth. The aroma shows the best of the region and variety, with a complex blend of fresh red berry fruits, liquorice, leather, cedary oak, earth and spice. The palate is seamless, harmonious, warm and seductive. It begins with ample ripe fruit and subtle well integrated oak which gradually fills the mouth. Velvety tannins are then slowly revealed along with further complexities thanks to some time prior to release. The finish is long, reflective and satisfying. While drinking very well now, this wine will improve with short to medium term cellaring (3-6 years)

2006 – “It spends a whopping 28 months in small French oak but the wine does not taste necessarily oak driven. There is quite a bit of oak flavour here, mind. It’s citrussy and cedary and toasty too, but the juicy, blackberried underpinning is substantial enough to support it. Overall you’d call it a balanced wine.
