The 2004 vintage has been one of the best vintages of recent times in South Australia. Good flavour concentration and balance typify this vintage. This 2004 McLaren Vale / Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception. The colour is a dark red with just a hint of brick red development beginning to show. The aroma offers the best of the variety and both regions. Menthol, mint, chocolate, cedar, hints of vanilla and wonderful earthy, leathery notes as well. The palate is beautifully balanced, full of flavour and lingers in the mouth almost indefinitely. The excellent acid and tannin structure, coupled with the fruit concentration and complex nature of the wine ensures great cellaring and food matching potential.
