This cool-climate chardonnay is crisp and tightly structured, with a well defined balance between fruit, secondary characters and finely integrated oak. Bright straw in appearance with hints of green. The wine shows complex citrus, cashew and spice aromas. A powerful yet elegant palate of stone fruit and pear flavours is supported by an underlying minerality which accents the vineyard of origin. Great intensity and elegance are integrated into a tight and racy finish of great length. Bellvale Vineyard lies on a spectacular north-facing slope of red basalt soil overlooking the Tarwin River in South Gippsland, Victoria. The cool, moist climate perfectly suits Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which is close planted at 7,200 vines to the hectares using 10 different clones, which provide subtleties and complexity.
