This wine has a complex bouquet of dark cherry fruit, cinnamon spice and a subtle savoury new oak char character. On the palate there is a powerful dark cherry/black fruit flavours well integrated with the savoury spicy/French Oak providing both roundness and length. The fine grained tannins help provide excellent weight and structure to the wine that will ensure the wine takes several years to reach its peak and then age gracefully with careful cellaring.
Paringa Estate Pinot Noirs have now collected 42 Wine Show trophies - including Best Pinot Noir at the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Victorian Wine Shows.

What the critics think
2008 - “This moves into altogether different territory, making a strident statement of toasty mocha and spice oak, some earthy depth and ripe cherry fruit lurking throughout. The palate has juicy middle-palate crunch but the flesh is all tight bound in tannin and oak now. Needs time to unfold; fresh cherry pip finish. Rating; 94 points / 4 ½ star
Nick Stock – The Penguin Good Australian wine Guide - 2010
2008 – “As ever, undeniable concentration, with red and black fruit framed amply by lavish levels of toasty oak; the fruit handles it with aplomb, as the palate is lively, fresh and ample; charry oak, layers of fruit and spice, and firm structure are the essence of this Mornington stalwart. Screwcap..” Rating: 95 points
James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion 2011

2008 – “Full purple-red colour; powerful sweet cherry fragrance with traces of stemmy whole bunch ferment character, and in the mouth it’s soft and fleshy, with ample sweet fruit and charm. Deep, generous and balanced. Right on form.” Rating 5 star
