Elegant medium-bodied Champagne with toasty, yeasty tones on the nose and palate, lingering flavoured finish with good acid.
In Champagne the legal minimum requirement for aging in bottle of non vintage brut is 15 months. However the House of Henriot takes pride in ageing its cuvées for a much longer time. This indispensable maturing period enable the wines to develop their complexity and refinement. Henriot blends are distinctly different to other Champagne houses with the higher than average use of Chardonnay (40%-60%) rather than average in Champagne nearer to 30%, an important distinctive element to the Henriot style.

Good yeasty, lemony, bready nose. Still quite youthful but with lovely savoury roots, minerality and elegance. Lovely…. Rating : 15.6/20

Light, green-tinge colour. Very smoky and pungent on the nose, with notes of oatmeal, toasted wheat, candied ginger and pear. A medium-bodied Champagne with the smoky, toasted flavours repeated on the palate, along with citrus and tangy orchard fruit tones. This has weight and heft but is also quite brisk, with a refreshingly bitter citrus bite on the finish. I suspect that some high quality older chardonnay is making a statement in the blend. Rating 90/100

Henriot is aiming to re-establish a presence in Australia with this excellent non-vintage wine. It’s generously flavoured, richly textured, savoury and complex. Meaty undertones of pinot noir are backed by suggestions of fresh bakery yeast and floral chardonnay undertones, while its chewy crackly palate marries a winery richness and weight with the lightness and life of fine Champagne. It’s effortlessly long and creamy, finishing with a marvelously persistent flavour and a dry cut of acid.
