Colour is dark garnet red with a dense purple rim. Nose of jubes, dark berry fruits and hints of mocha roasted coffee with background savoury/spice characters. Dark and deeply complex fruits with mixed spice.
Palate of excellent fine grained tannins supporting dark blue and black berry fruit characters with underlying spice and savoury complexity. The length of palate and flavour is supported by subtle acidity.
A blended from Mount Langi estate grown and local vineyards fruit, matured in French and American oak for 18 months. Drinking well now and will develop in the cellar over the next 10 or so years.
Winemaker Notes; A delicate wine originating from our cool climate vineyards. The 2006 Cliff Edge Shiraz is now showing terrific fruit intensity, red fruit flavours, complex spice characters and balanced tannins. Excellent balance of finesse and depth, this wine points the way for Cliff Edge in terms of finely structured palate and fruit intensity.
