The wine has a deep garnet colour. Intense varietal Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and liquorice lift from the glass to greet the nose. The elegance of this bouquet is underpinned by the beautifully integrated French oak aromas. The palate is intense, linear and elegant. Blackcurrant and liquorice flavours linger in the mouth to produce an incredibly long finish. The fine backbone of acidity displayed by this wine and the ultra fine tannins suggest a vintage of Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon with great aging potential.
What the critics think
2005 - "93 points - Bright ruby-red. Expressive, complex nose offers ripe scents of cherry-vanilla, blackcurrant, mocha, smoked meat and mocha, all lifted by a sexy floral nuance. Impressively sweet and lush, with energetic red and dark berry character, candied flowers and seductive pliancy of texture. Finishes very long and sweet, with the ripe fruit gently supported by fine-grained tannins. This firmed up in the glass as its spiciness and minerality became more assertive."
Josh Raynold - New Releases from Australia Report - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - July 2009

2005 - "Cabernet like the shiraz is undergoing a sustained improvement program. This is firmer and tighter than the previous vintage, but in place of that is power and structure along classic cabernet lines. The fruit is immense and wrapped tightly around the firmish tannins and sold oak. It will definitely benefit from further ageing. Great promise." 92/100 Cellar 9 years
Ray Jordan's -  2010 WA wine guide

2005 - "A super-elegant and refined wine, with few of the flourishes that many of its regional counterparts exhibit; the fragrant, dark fruits of the bouquet are precisely replayed on the palate with its somber flavours and tannins. Screwcap. 13.5% alc. Rating 95 To 2030"
James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion - 2011 Edition

2005 - "In southern Margaret River style, this quite austere cabernet has light, herbal, floral/violet overlay to the intense black-currant with a light, cedary touch. It's restrained, elegant and finely textured, with sustained, intense flavour. Pleasant freshness in the mouth gives it a likeable profile. Intense with nicely poised tannins." 4.5 stars
Ralph Kyte-Powell - The Age Epiqure – 30 November 2010
