The colour is deep ruby with a dark centre. The nose shows intense blackcurrant and blackberry fruits with some black olive hints complemented by a touch of French oak. A very perfumed wine completed by underlying dark chocolate and cigar box notes.

The palate is medium to full weight with intense sweet fruit of blackcurrant and plum. The dusty fine tannins give the wine a powerful lingering finish. This wine is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot, which adds fruit and softness to the muscular body of the Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine would be an ideal accompaniment to most meat dishes.

What the critics think

Deep red. Strong cabernet aromas of cassis, bitter cherry, tobacco, pepper and rooty sassafras, with top notes of iron and graphite; this could easily pass for a Graves. Ripe cherry and pomegranate flavors are complemented by hints of bitter chocolate and dried herbs and nicely framed by firm tannins. Long, firm and focused, with juicy acids giving lift to the finish." 89 points
