The 2008 Fire Gully Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is a terrific wine and has intense aromatics; pale straw in colour, bouquet of lychees and honeydew melon. The palate is spotlessly clean, fresh and vibrant with bright grapefruit citrus flavours, tangy and zesty with a dry lingering finish. As usual the Fire Gully white blend is unoaked to emphasize its freshness and fruit qualities – very much in the style that Margaret River has made its own. It is the perfect quaffing wine to be sipped gently by itself on a summer’s day, or consumed with lunchtime salads or with delicate, light Thai dishes.
