Farr Rising is the creation of second generation winemaker, Nick Farr. Since the release of his first Farr Rising vintage in 2001, his wines have been a testament to his passion, persistence and eagerness. Nick initially thought that he would become a P.E. teacher or a sporting coach, instead he found a love for food and wine and followed in his fathers footsteps. Nick studied (Viticulture) at Dookie Agricultural College and has worked vintages for Rosemount Estate in the Hunter Valley. There he experienced grape sampling in the Hunter Valley, Mudgee and Cowra regions and his role also encompassed looking for diseases, testing sugar levels and rating fruit. Nick has also worked vintage at Bannockburn in Victoria, Cristom in Oregon USA, Au Bon Climat in California USA. Farr Rising are made from fruit sourced from Mornington and Geelong, the wines are of outstanding quality.
